I have not heard anything on Woodleigh since the fire other than that they were planning to rebuild. Anyone got an update?

The plan is to get the plant operating again but I believe Geoff still wants to sell up which is not surprising at his age. As you would expect, there are several parties interested but they need to get the plant operating again to get a decent price for the operation.

They have had a few working bees with members from my club going up to help with the clean up. Fortunately the equipment was largely unaffected except for some burnt wiring, which is being replaced. They expect to be back up and operating at some stage but if a buyer is ultimately secured I would expect the plant to be moved to a new location. Hopefully it will remain in Aussie hands.

JFE,
Thanks for that.
Best situation report on Woodleigh that I have yet found.
Hopefully the .458-cal. Woodleigh bullets will be available again.
The 400-gr HYDRO for .45-70 needs to be tried in the .458 WM at 2500 fps.
The 400-gr PPSN at same velocity is allowed by Woodleigh specs too.
That is a tough enough bullets for more than just rabbits.

Thanks RC.

FYI the Woodleigh Hydros were always made at a different plant (well away from the fire) and supply of these bullets should be unaffected.

That is good. More hope of finding the .458/400-gr HYDRO on this side of the pond someday.
Been looking for years.
