I’ve managed to tie a knot in the end, and I’m hanging on. What it is, and how I’m hanging on is a bit of an existential question for folks above my pay grade, but I awake on Day 4 of my captivity a wee bit more here than not. I'm still in the hospital. I have not been out of bed since Tuesday.
Bottom line: Chemo + COVID = Trouble
Yesterday was a back slide. They were going to toss me out, but I spent most of the day weak and wan. I had barely enough energy to pee. They finally dumped a unit of whole blood in me about dinner time and I started to perk up. The overall problem is that I don’t have enough hemoglobin left to raise my head off the pillow.
When they toss me out, if they do, I'll be going home to KYHillChick who is barely any better than I. She's had the COVID as well.

Covid isn't a lot of fun. It can be very taxing on the body. I can't imaging enduring that and chemo. Here's wishing yo well.

Well, I just got done talking to the doc.
What it boils down to is that the COVID on top of the CHEMO caused a very minor heart attack. They don't think any heart muscle was damaged, but it got a bit of a shock. The prognosis is good, but the recuperation is going to be slow.
Yikes. I got just done breaking the news to 'Hillchick.
The doc said he told me in the ER, but I have no recollection.

Drink lots of water as long as your system is functioning well.
I’ve walked to the other side a couple of times, its good to be back but the other side is tops !

I have improved overnight. At least I can make it to the head and back. I also managed to get through the night without an anti-nausea shot. That’s a key development; it means the effect of the Chemo is waning.
I talked to ‘HillChick. She’s improving as well. I wished her a happy 64th Birthday.
