Cleaning up a bit in the Garage and found my old manual and thought the data may be of some use to guys on this forum. Has one water stain in a corner but still very legible for something printed in 1959-1960.

Be careful with that old data, primers are different now, and they did not spare the powder.
I compared that old data to my present data I am loading, and the old data is a might hot.

From Speer #4 the max load using 4831 in the 3006 Improved and 180 gr Speer bullets is 61 grs at 2803 fps with 9 1/2's out of a 26" barrel. In Sierra's new book they max 4831 SC and it's 63 grs! at 2900 fps with the "same" 9 1/2's in a 26" again.
I am not a primer expert. I don't have any data that they are different or not. If someone wants some 9 1/2's from 1970 come and get them. Then you can test them for us.
That Speer manual is full of juicy lore and good solid data. In particular the story of Fred Huntington and Warren Page and thier 6mm's is well worth any reasonable effort to get that valuable old book.
