New videos popping up from actual visitors that day......June 23rd

Lesson learned......park your truck on high ground..not in a dry wash

NEVER have I EVER seen anything like that, wow.

I remember seeing pictures of a flood in KC, Wyoming while shooting PD's, I couldn't fathom that the place could have a flood.

That sucks.

I'm sure Park Service was right up their azz about who was responsible for getting the rigs outta there after the flood subsided.

I drove an RV I had down a dry wash once.
I was alone and it took the better part of the day to navigate the washed out road, had to keep stopping to move rocks and pick my way.
It took a couple hours until it hit me as to why the road was so eroded.
I continued on but never had a easy feeling moment after the realization.

Made my destination at the bottom of the wash, right on the shore of Lake Mojave, stayed for a week.

Couldn't make myself do that again.

Tikkanut: Yikes! Do you think the vehicle owners purposely parked their vehicles so stupidly for some unfathomable reason?
I hope no one was kill't!
Thanks for the video.
Been to Corral Reef wouldn't even consider parking in a wash!
ESPECIALLY when rain is in the forecast!

We were out in Red Rock Canyon near Bonnie Springs once when a thunderhead rolled in.

As a resident of the hills and hollows of Appalachia where flash flooding is frequent I can honestly say that I've never seen flash flooding come on so fast and furiously!

On busy days....higher ground parking spots fill up fast....

Thus....people park along/in the dry stream beds

Which is actually the road/travel path in certain areas

As in this hard hit area....Capitol Gorge

Sheer sandstone cliffs & walls.....water only has one place to go......Down

Somewhere in the dialog one of the men commented that you had to get there early to get the good parking.

The higher parking lot had probably cleared out before the videos.
Some may have been paying attention to the possible coming weather more than others and left early when they could still drive out.

One thing that stressed me out at Capitol Reef 2 years ago, we didnt have cell/data. It was cloudy and some towering cumulus cauliflower heads were off in the distance. I am CONSTANTLY checking live radar, ever here at the house.

I dont go by the “smiley face sunshine emojis” on the weather reports like most humans. I always like live nexrad if I can get it. Just from my roofing days.

We got about 2 miles (hiking) back into a creekbed and it started to sprinkle. I decided for us to GTFO quick.

Odd there were starbucks dumbasses still hiking towards us on the way in as we were beat-feeting it the hell out of there. Ya know…the cigarettes and flip flop people.

Damn, I wonder what it cost to have the helicopter retrieve all those rigs from the canyon?

I'm guessing that in many of those areas the road follows beside the creek.
Retrieval might notta been as bad as it looked for some.

Park Service would be your demon, they'd be watching to be sure you didn't scratch a rock getting one out.

NPS: God damn it! Go clean that paint off that rock where your $60K truck bounced before the next storm washes it into the environment!!

Sheesh!!!
