Here's a pic this morning at the water trough in my pasture behind my house. Despite it being a super dry year the elk are still doing good. But I still didn't draw a tag.

Dude,
maybe I need to put in for that unit next year!
All I get on my game cam are some deer, some of the neighbor's loose cattle, the odd skunk, and a damn ground squirrel I'm trying to get for eating up my tulip bulbs.
Hope you have a nice fire safe summer over there Mark.

Monsoon season there. Raining a couple of hours west of his area right now. Maybe his location gets lucky too.

Yes - our place was at 8k elevation in the Gila NF about 21 miles south of Quemado - fairly close to Armijo Springs. I miss seeing the elk every day, mule deer regularly, the occasional bear or lion, the very challenging hunts for Merriam's. The wolves - not so much.

You have that many elk running around your place and can't get a tag? ?
