you can't just shoot and walk away ? LOL You should stay in new york. What is somebody watching the fuggers all the time ? The fish cops keep you guys right under their thumbs ? People poach bear and deer here all the time and get away with it. I know people who've done it every year for a lifetime and never got caught. You'd think as big and sparsely populated as Alaska and Montana are comparatively it would be easier. You never know who is watching... https://www.spokesman.com/stories/2019/apr/02/video-captures-father-and-son-brutally-kill-a-bear/Note to self……If you’re gonna poach bears, use a REM 770 and drive a beater.

The old joke was that if you get in a jackpot out in BFE, just shoot a cow moose out of season. Fish cops will be there within an hour.

I've never run into one out in the woods in 45 years of hunting.

Or another old chestnut: always keep a deck of cards in your survival kit. If you get lost pull out the cards, start a game of solitaire, and within five minutes some SOB will be looking over your shoulder telling you which cards to play.

I've hunted all day, every day for a week without seeing a soul on state land here.

Odd. I've hunted all day, every day for a week without seeing a soul on state land here. During hunting season there are guys glassing from vantage points and a dead bear with birds on it would be seen. This time of year it would be pretty lonely up there but somebody would find the carcass come Sept and the investigation would rival a murder case. US F&W would go all CSI. That guy almost for sure drove up the Wood River and climbed up Meadow Creek trail to get to that spot. You can see it's really open country.

Yeah they would be a whole lot more visible there than here. Still if a bear gave indication that it wanted to eat me I'd fill that fugger with holes, pick up my empties and skeedaddle.

The adolescent jealously displayed by those that wasted their lives doing nothing is abundant here.
They have now grown too old and weak to do anything other that read of others adventures and live through their realities.
They read with envy and resort to belittling with some sorta hope of burying the shortcomings of their own wasted lives. Ain't that the truth.
Fall seven times, stand up eight.
