I checked my heart rate several times. It was between 40 and 50 and 1 time it was 36! Not bad for a 77 year old.

That's not necessarily a good thing. It's called bradycardia. Google it.

That’s were mine was at in my late 20’s when running marathons……a wee bit higher now!

WRPape may be very correct…..probably should get a check-up! memtb

If you’re not takin’ dig or a beta blocker, and if you don’t have a heart block, and if you’re not short of breath or fatigued or symptomatic in any other way…and if you’re in good physical condition…then congratulations dude. Yes, that’s pretty flippin’ good for a 77 year old…! Minus the things mentioned above, that’s pretty flippin’ good for anybody…!

Thanks, antlers. I'm in sort of good shape. Lately I've been walking to be ready for the hills in October.

I told my daughter who's an adult care giver. My 02 is 98.

I have an uncle who has bradycardia and had to get a pacemaker. He had other issues to go with it. Decided he better get checked out when he was walking across his yard one day and passed out.

When he got the pacemaker he felt much better, didn't realize that he was suffering from fatigue and poor energy levels because he had gotten used to feeling lousy.

Sounds like you are just in good shape.

I live at about 250 ft absl…. I hunt every year 8-9k feet with zero issues…. First time I went above 10 I about died…. Terrible headache…. Couldn’t sleep…. Went back down the next morning to about 8500 and was fine…. That was in my early 20’s…. I have tried numerous times to acclimate but anytime I go above 10 it’s the same thing…. Guess it’s like people getting sea sick 🤷🏻‍♂️

My mother, in her 80s had a real slow heart beat. She had to get a pace maker, and is 94 years old now.

Below 40 is considered bradycardic. If you havent done so, you ought to get an EKG from your primary doc, and see what he says. There are a lot of different things that can mess with a normal heart rate. I was feeling pretty proud about 10 years ago with a 55 pretty consistently, then the one day it went to 36 and my BP cuff flashed an error light and wouldnt read. EKG the same day revealed PVC's causing irregular rythm. Not Polyvinyl Chlorides, but Pre Ventricular Contractions. Fortunately, mine are not causing any great disruption to my activity. Good luck.

I’m 58 , 5’10 and 145 . Same since high school looong ago. Mine runs about 80 to 85 bpm. I tried to give blood once and it was 100 bpm and they wouldn’t let me. Elk camp is 11,000 feet and I do ok with it.

Anything below 60 is typically considered bradycardic. But millions of healthy and in-shape people have heart rates like Ringman’s and they cause no problems whatsoever. If they don’t have any of the issues that were mentioned in my initial post on this thread, then more power to em’.

My normal heartbeat is about 50. My primary care said below 60 is cause for concern and referred me to a cardiologist. Cardiologist ran all his tests and said no problem, see you next year. Every year now for the last two. Pretty much what antlers said.

Thanks gentlemen for your concern. I feel pretty good maybe I should get the cardiologist check it over.

By the way, when I walk I carry a ten pound dumb bell in each hand. Tha center handles have a 3 1/4" diamter cushion to make gripping harder. I worked up with larger and larger soft tubes. Going to the 3 1/4" was a noticeable jump.

Just a thought. Does anybody know why I posted, "call me Michael"?
