Two bourbon drinks after a tough day......almost 5 pm......

I've had my eye on a fixed power scope for a few months now as it's been in and out of stock......

What the hell, let's do it.......

Less than 4 minutes on the phone.....

Meopta meostar R1 7x56 illuminated reticle on the way......should be at the doorstep by Thursday.

Bet that is a cool scope.
I had a Swarovski 8x56 fixed years ago...
Was hell on deer after sunset...

I have been wanting a fixed power for a build and I have been wanting to try a Meopta. Where'd you purchase it?

They show up from time to time on europtic.......
I checked a couple of hours after my order and it was back on the "out of stock" status.....

I saw this scope come and go a few months ago.....and waited too long...so perhaps give it a while and it may show up again.

I must have watched the current offering 3 weeks after it returned to "in stock " before I got to seriously drinking about it.

For whatever reason, I never realized they have a fixed 7X.

I've got lots of 6X scopes, and I've eyed Meopta's 8X but passed.

Now, a 7X to split the difference may reel me in. grin

Mind if I ask about the ring ht you used....

The meopta is a 1" tube....I'm likely looking at high at a minimum.....I use tally 2-pc ring/based on a lot of my bolt guns.....the likely rifle is a sauer 100, rem 700 setup for bases.

Skeen, for all I know it could be a discontinued unsold model that europtic scavenges from wherever......

Or maybe meopta keeps this model in the overseas market.......but l have no clue.

I've had several R1's (none of them fixed) but didn't know they were offered in 1" tube.

Great line….and an excellent way to finalize a decision. It’s helped me numerous times to hit the purchase button. 😂

Just an FYI, Meopta has their MeoStar R2 8x56 RD on sale right now thru the Meopta store. This is my first time passing along the Meopta store as the place to get this deal. Usually priced at $1700 it is now $1020. This is the amazing MeoStar R2 line of scopes. I have the 7x56 on a lever-action .308 Win. and love it. This scope is being discontinued and when they are gone, that's it. Still covered by the Meopta Lifetime warranty. The ZD and MeoTac lines also have some nice buys as well. Just thought this might help any of you guys considering a fixed power optic save some $ and get a top-tier optic too.

https://meopta.store/products/meostar-r2-8x56-rd

MeoStar R2 riflescopes are built by hand with incredible attention to detail and precision, embodying the ultimate in premium-class hunting optics. Maximum brightness is delivered in even the worst lighting conditions through the use of our proprietary MeoLux ion-assisted coating, providing 99.8% light transmission per lens surface. 8-position illuminated reticles provide a bright, defined aiming point for precision shot placement. When the sun sets on the competition's optical performance, you'll be ready for that trophy of a lifetime with a MeoStar R2.

Wow. That’s a very nice scope. Only the one with illuminated crosswire centeris on sale. The one with the dot is still full price.

Had a Hawke with similar specs, and decided a fixed 8 was just too much power for my field use. Now I have a 2.5-10x56 Trijicon, a bit more flexible, if heavier.

I bought a 2.5x10 trjicon credo just 3 months ago.

It is heavy, reduced recoil on the rifle noticeably.
