This thread started on the subject of Russia defaulting. That was after the money he would have used to pay was seized by the countries that now want him to pay.
I'm hoping this situation will end with Russia in control of the criminal state of Ukraine or at least part of it and most of all I hope we avoid WW3 getting any bigger than it already is.

Markets are tanking, metals losing as much as 4%, crude down 7%, Ruble off 16%, most commodity funds seriously down 4 and 5%. Something big is up, probably connected directly to this Ukraine misadventure and the ill advised sanctions against Russia. Ben Bernanke's huge fear was deflation and said it was to be avoided whatever it took. Maybe today's market is just a fluke, we'll soon see.

Russia has already led the way forward on defaults.
They have more international bond debts due fairly soon with an estimated probability of 95% defaults.
Germany defaulted around 1929 and the 30s which was a big factor in the worldwide depression and resulted in WW2. Could happen again. Germany was broken by the bankers and now they're doing it to Russia. Except Russia doesn't have to depend on international trade to survive.
