I'm going to raise hell, twice. Lol

@jameslavish

If you work 40 hrs/wk: at 5% inflation and after 5 years, you need a 28% pay raise or to work 44 more hours (*one full extra week* per month+) to make up the difference.

This is inflation

A morgue employee recently got cremated by mistake while taking a nap...

I guess two people got fired that day.

I plan on a Military burial at the National Cemetery after cremation. But, with only half of my ashes. My wife and I have a spot picked out to have our ashes scattered with a great view of the Beartooths. If that won't work with the military, all of my ashes will go with my wifes..
If I go first, she will probably forget about the military burial.

Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.

The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.

Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

That’s what Walt Disney had done. He ain’t gonna be at all happy with what’s been done to his brainchild.

Supposedly George Soros and Bill Gates also are going cryogenic.

I watched a video about that cryonics place. The strange thing I noticed was all of the security locks, latches and codes on the door to exit the body storage area to the offices. You'd think it would be reversed.

This is why the doors are locked from the inside. Anybody remember when this movie came out, it scared the hell out of me.

There's a small rural cemetery near Boise on land that was homesteaded by my great grandfather. He sold an acre to the county about 1903 for a cemetery. It's a public cemetery but I'm related to half the people in it. They allow up to 4 urns to be put in each plot so we've all agreed to be cremated and buried there to get in as many as possible. I have a nephew who's a potter. He's made a bunch of urns for the family over the years.

Not to worry. You won't be there.

Got a little hilltop cemetery near my patch of woods.

Just set out a brick, to mark and save you a spot with your family there.

The fella that looks after the place for the church digs the hole with a back-hoe, gratis.

Then your folks will usually cover you up.

Make your own box, and throw in a granite marker from the local craftsman, and you got yourself a nice little piece of real-estate for less than $500.

Embalming got popular when long distance travel became practical. They no longer had to have a funeral and get them buried in 2 or 3 days. It enabled them to hold the bodies until relatives could arrive for the funeral. It got so popular that most people think embalming is required but in most cases it's not. It's just an added expense and a big money maker for morticians.
Steel caskets and vaults aren't required either. They push them on the family so the body will keep longer but that's not the real purpose of them. Many cemeteries require one or the other because they don't rot and collapse, leaving them with a hole to fill up. Wood caskets rot apart and collapse leaving a hole that needs filling later.
Cremation is FAR cheaper. We cremated my mother last month for $800. Sometimes you can find a crematorium cheaper than that. Urns are optional. If you want one, you can go as cheap or expensive as you like.

You might be "burdening" them by not allowing a funeral.
