AVERY NICE FRIEND INDEED.

7-30 ought to take care of most of one's shooting/hunting needs and the 375 will certainly cover most anything left over except big bears and DG.

Louis from one of the other sites bought A 375 barrel I had up for sale (I bought it just for the scope that was on it) and in quick load development for an upcoming hunt got 2 5/16 group . . . at 200 yards.
Everything I have ever read about the 375 said the (now discontinued) 220 grain Hornady was the bullet pushed bu Reloader 7.
Bound to be a replacement load by now.

I got rid of the 375 because all I read (and a friend who had one in a Ruger #3) said it did not do well with cast, well and I have said NO more molds in "new" calibers..

I have read several posts since bragging on the round and cast projies.
Everyone brags on the 38-55 and cast projies so why should the 375 be any different.

My first Contender was a 14" 7-30 Waters identical to yours. I added 222 Rem and 375 JDJ barrels. All shot very well - as good or better than any rifles I owned at the time. I can't help with cast loads - always shot 120 Nos BT's in the 7-30 and 250 Sierras in the 375.

After years without a Contender, I recently got the itch to put one together. I went 14" 7-30 again:
