I am new to reloading, and have questions. I have a 219 Donaldson Wasp short bench gun built by my grandfather. I need brass for it and read where you can make Wasp brass from Zipper brass. Where do I start ? I have deprimed and cleaned the brass. What should the next step to form into Wasp brass? I am waiting on forming dies for the Wasp brass, so I can make Wasp brass from 30-30 brass. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

30-30 brass will work, but you might have to step it through 30-30 to 25-35 to 219 and then trim to length.

Form die (3 die) set is the way to go.you can make due as recommended by 260 but you will loose more cases. I shoot 219 Wasp and 225 Winchester and make both out of 30-30 brass. Your "short" wasp chamber might require a custom FL die as there were lots of variations.

I have a Marlin 336 SC in 219 Zipper and have been feeding it for around 55 years with ammo made from Winchester/Olin 30-30 brass. Imperial wax is your friend.
Chashooter is right about variations in wildcat chambers requiring custom dies, so you almost certainly want to do a chamber cast.

I had several Zippers years ago and got a complete set of form dies from RCBS. They weren't expensive then, but that's probably not true nowadays. I tried once-fired .30-30 brass and it worked but new brass would probably be better. I had very good results with new .25-35 brass; probably not real easy to find today.
