Any thoughts on the Bergara HMR 6.5? Looking at it for an intro to long range shooting option without breaking the bank.

I had a RH model for several years. Bought it used here. It was well-made and satisfactory in every way. It’s a bit heavy, but balanced ok. Stock offers good ergos and adjustability. The action is an improved 700 and slick. I put a Timney in mine and had no issues getting it to shoot good groups. I wound up selling it off for a Sig Cross, as I wanted something lighter, but it’s a good product.
Now with even more aplomb

I think you could do a heck of alot worse. I'm satisfied with mine. I would suggest a good solid mounting system. You will not need any sort of MOA rail just a solid mount and scope. Side Not: I am a MOA shooter on my average day, I hold MOA with my B14 HMR out about 500-600yds.not much farther and my abilities fall to pot. Maybe A NATZAZZ shooter can chime in and set you straight;) YMMV

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA
