When I need new base layer I search Duofold.
The anti American Constitutional party (Democrat). Wants to dismantle your rights, limiting every aspect of your constitutional rights. Death by 1000 cuts is the tactic. Each cut bleeds constitutional rights to control you. Control is the goal.

Paul, Thanks for the link, just ordered Smartwool 250 zip top & 250 bottoms, Charcoal, 2 pr. SW socks. You're alright for a halfass coonass.  . Lololol. It’s worth stopping by to look on occasion. They have killer deals on good sunglasses at times too. Oh, and bicycle shorts too!

A couple years ago, Costco had some long sleeved T's made by Karbon, 100% Merino, $20. They're great. I bought 1 and tried it. Then I scampered right back and bought 7 more which was all they had in my size.
Karbon doesn't sell them on their web site. Their base layers are like $75. I got 4 or 5 of those Karbon shirts @ Costco also. I think I paid $17 each. They were identical to the REI brand in weight and construction. REI was quite a bit prouder of their shirts.
If you take the time it takes, it takes less time.

Took rost495 recommendation on silk base layer, $80 on Amazon.
Very light and did feel really warm for the thickness and weight.
Came with a little repair kit.
