This is a fancy name for a blood clot in the lungs. Somehow I managed to come down with one of these damn things. Symptoms were pretty weird. For quite a while I have had just a bit less wind than normal when exerting myself. In the past week or so this got MUCH worse. Walking 40 yards to the mailbox had me breathing pretty hard. I could still do some things, but it was very difficult to get my wind back when finished. My normal routine involves some pretty crazy workouts, with heavy weights and upwards of 1,000 calories burned in an evening. This routine really helped me notice the change in respiratory function. I still should have gone to the doctor before I did. Looks like I’ll be on blood thinners for 6 months or more. Workouts now consist of walking the dogs a 1/2 mile or so, until my lung capacity comes back. I’m pretty lucky to be alive, so I won’t complain. If any of you get any sudden respiratory decline, get yourself checked out. The doctors can see the evidence pretty easily with a blood test. A CT Scan can also easily confirm the situation. And no I didn’t take the damn shot.

PE is no joke

Eliquis, not warfarin.

Price be damned, insist on it.

Glad you caught it. A few people I know who got the Vax, also got a Pulmonary Embolism, although the dr's are reluctant to directly point a finger at it. Bad for business you know. My wife's wore her out just walking from the drive way (standard subdivision) while we were on a trip. She was in the hospital for a few days. She's still taking Eliquis, after more than a year.

I had several, in both lungs. Six days in ICU, and the docs more or less warehoused me and waited for me to die. I was a little too stubborn to croak. Pulmonary emboli are a very common side effect of Covid, which I had tested positive for three days before being hospitalized. When I showed up for my appointment to get the antibody infusion they did a CT scan and found the clots. I had been coughing up nasty snot nonstop for three days- - - -couldn't sleep, or even lie down without choking. No, I didn't get the clot shot, either. Being on a strong blood thinner (Pradaxa) for several years because of atrial fibrillation apparently kept the clots from killing me.

That’s what killed my friend when he had Covid

Glad you made it

Hey bro. I feel your pain. This time almost exactly last summer I was diagnosed. Bilateral PE. Family practice doc couldn’t get it all figured out and sent me down to Carolinas Med Ctr in Charlotte. After about 8 hours of tests, head scratching, more tests, the docs there nailed it. Stayed there 2 days and nights. And it came with a side order of cardiac issues. Was hypotensive and tachycardic for a long time. Dizzy as a bat. Couldn’t walk from the den to the bedroom without stopping. Had BP in the 70ish over 50ish at times. Now and then even lower. Highest heart rate was over 160 systolic with diastolic 120 and over. Been on Elquis, hydrocortisone and fludocortisone ever since. Bad memories. But I improved enough to deer hunt in November. And it will get better for you, just not as quickly as you would like.

Stay strong. Praying for you.

Glad your able to share. Usually those things are silent, quick killers.

One got a sister a few years ago. She had a broken foot/leg. She got by for weeks and one day they loosened up the splint …. She hit the floor dead.

I only had 8 PE so I'm officially decrepit. Can't take Elliquis(bleed too much) so 7.5 Warfarin every morning which is $12.20 for 90 days at my local Publix. Rest water and the words "No" helped me after the lung damage happened. Glad you caught it early. (Er Doc said I had about 48 hours left before I left this coil whoops.)

Bangflop! another skinning job due to .260 and proper shot placement.
