Too hot to cook !!! Chicken Caesar, with Deb's homemade dressing & lettuce from our garden was killa !

My boys were in the mood for wings last night. Put some Meat Church Gospel rub mixed with a little cornstarch on them. Cooked them on the kettle with some apple wood. They came out damn tasty!

Did an elk round roast today. Seared it in a hot pan, then deglaze pan with 2 onions. Put it all in a crock pot with some green olives, garlic, a little butter, a shake of Worcestershire and some homemade bone broth. Cooked 8-9 hrs. Strained the au jus when it was done and served it on cauliflower rice. Should of taken a picture.

Raining so hard, I couldn't be bothered to go to the garden & pick a lettuce !!

Gulf grouper, some grilled okra, snow peas and salad. Great summer meal.

Had some left over deer burgers, so came up with this delicious combo.

Cheese crusted, deer burger & cheese toasties !

Corned beef, and cabbage.

Beer. Cold Beer. I'm only on number 5. But the night is young.

Bolognese

We had neighbors over for cocktails and a variety of finger food tonight. Two couples, one of which ran and cared for the Budweiser Clydesdales for years. They now work for a rancher 20 miles away that breeds, shows and sells Clydesdales. They just delivered two males and two females last week. We are going to head to the ranch with them and visit the horses. Beautiful weather and a fun night.

Dear Cattle Ranchers (especially those in Montana):

I know I don't eat much beef (or meat in general), but when I do, I'm reminded of why many religions (my own included) not only sanction the eating of meat but celebrate it as a gift from the good lord to mankind. I eat a lot of vegetarian stuff but there is absolutely nothing like a good steak, in my case, boneless ribeyes.

I'd take one cattle rancher over a billion software coders if I were to start a new society.

Haven't cooked indoors once since I set up the CampChef last Sunday.

Basque sheep ranchers across the street give us some homemade sausage.

Sheep makes for some excellent sausage!

That's what I was thinking when they brought it over.

Nope, pork and veal with some special kinda basque chili powder.

Best of all no friggin fennel seed.
