WH is backpeddaling talking about the cancerous skin cells he had removed. I don't know anyone who would consider that "having cancer" in the same way as he implied. Certainly don't know anyone (I know about 8 people who've had cancerous skin bits cut off) who considers themselves a "cancer survivor" due to it either. Not in the same sense as someone who beats breast cancer or some other more invasive cancer.
Not devaluing skin cancer - it can be bad but you know Joe will talk this up like he spent 9 years in chemo or something.
