If you forgot - the best way to kill those little boring bastards (for me anyway)…
It to run a hot blow dryer on the icy spot until it hurts and you have to point it away … Do it 3 times and it kills those little chits.. !!
God I hate chiggers.

No chiggers in Oregon in 55 years I've lived here. Just to be sure, let me go lay on the grass and check.
Nope, still no chiggers.

By the time one realizes they've been bitten by a chigger it is mostly long gone. The 'itch' comes from the enzymes deposited from the bite to break down tissue.
A good scrubbing with soap water will generally cleanse the bite area.

Not a problem here in the NC mountains, but drive off the hill and it's chiggerville. I hate 'em.

I spray my ankles on the front porch when I walk out the door the first time for the day.

I spray my ankles on the front porch when I walk out the door the first time for the day. Same here. We keep a lot of these bottles around the house and it the vehicles. You can spray it right on your skin if you're wearing shorts or short sleeves. If I'm doing outdoor work, I put it on my neck and ears also. If I'm really hitting the bushes, it is long pants and boots, with my pant legs and socks hit with a fair bit of Deet for chiggers and ticks. Bugg everywhere else that is exposed, as I don't like Deet on my skin.
Now with even more aplomb

God I hate chiggers. Same principle, different method: Heat up a spoon or other piece of metal in warm/hot water and place on the itchy spot. But be careful, you can blister the skin if you get the metal too hot or allow it to stay in contact with the skin for too long. In my opinion that is a lot better than having the itch, but to each his own.
The biggest problem our country has is not systemic racism, it's systemic stupidity.

Nope, still no chiggers. When we moved to Oklahoma when I was 10 went to go lie on the lawn and watch the stars as I would in Oregon. My cousin said I'd get chiggers. 'What are chiggers?' Sure enough... Still not sure how a kid could grow up and not be able to lay in the grass and look at the stars or clouds. Really missing one of life's great pleasures.

Maintenance foreman at work has been known as Chigger for 40+ years they say. Even has vanity license plate on his truck “Chig 1”
They say it’s because he’s always been aggravating, but never was big enough to do any harm.

Back in 1997 my late Dad and I went up to Oshkosh for the EAA Convention/Airshow. Sat in the grass under an aircraft wing and took a few minutes to realize that there were no fire ants or chiggers to eat us up.

A good scrubbing with soap water will generally cleanse the bite area. Yep - they are long gone by the time you feel them. Tea Tree Oil will make the two week healing process dwindle down to 3-4 days
