Wabigoon: Much like you when I pray I have never, once, in my life prayed for anything for myself.
Mostly I give thanks for all my blessings and for my relatively great health.
Often I pray for others and often give thanks for the joy and happiness they bring to me.
Sometimes I "wish" the Lord would cure my proclivity to curse, on those rare occasions I do it.

May I suggest finding a sound LCMS pastor to help you address a lot of the misconceptions and anger that you harbor?
