I’m looking for recommendations from anyone who has experience with shot timers. I’ve never owned one, but used one at church quals a week ago. I’d like to get my own but don’t have any idea which one to buy. Thanks for any insight you may have.

Nothing to share, but what is church quals? Probably a church that took their own security seriously and have their security guys do some form of firearm qualification. If I had to guess. I know of one locally that does the same thing.

My church has armed security called Safety Services of which I’m a member. The church requires carry guys and gals to qualify once a year on the OPOTA (Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy) handgun course. It’s a liability insurance thing. This is the target we shoot from 4 feet out to 50 feet. 25 rounds with a minimum score of 20 to pass. Hits in the light gray are a point. Hits in the dark gray are zero points. Nothing crazy about being well prepared. I’ve been the Campus Lead in Safety since 2019. I’ve been on the Safety team since I retired in 2018. It takes a good guy with a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun. Or should I say a good guy with a set of balls in light of the recent Uvalde incident.

Ron Indeed. Warms my heart to see churches stepping up and handling their own security. Though it's a sad reflection on our society that it's needed.
