More to the point, what would a fair price be for my buddy's 1950 99 R (possibly a RS) in 300 Savage. Warning: It has been drilled and tapped for scope mounts, and also has been "Bubba-ed" with an epoxy cracked stock repair and amateur refinishing. He would like to sell it and asked me how much it's worth. Spoiler alert: He paid $75 dollars for it in 1963....that's probably $750 in today's money. Your thoughts, please.

You're pretty close $75. in 1963 is now worth between $688. - $727. today. In today's markets? I d mn near had to beg to sell an original 300 Savage 1956 "F" for less than that price here in Canada this month. Again your milage and your local gun values may vary. Just my two cents worth and worth what you paid for it.

It came from the factory drilled and tapped, but it didn't come with a broken stock.
$500 if it doesn't have a Redfeild receiver sight. If it does add another 150ish.
Could me a little more or a little less depending on how bad the buyer wants to buy it and/or how bad the seller wants to sell it.

Thanks, guys. I figured $500. He's going to be 87 in September and still can't pull the trigger and sell the damn thing.

Can you give us the first 4 of the SN?
If it's really a 1950 gun it should be factory drilled and tapped.
