I had one of their revolvers back in the early 80’s and it shot lights out. Mine just had the regular weight 8” barrel and I used it for squirrels back when I had eyes of an eagle. Full size revolver and shot well. Wish I hadn’t traded it off and would love to have one again along with one in 22 WMR
still have mine---2,4,6,and 8 inch barrels (not a pistol pack) along with extra cylinder for 22 mag.---thinking of selling it,it sits in the safe too much but excellent revolver
If I could find one, I'd probably buy it. I seem to have become addicted to good .22s, long gun or short. I don't recall ever seeing any of the .22s around here, though. .357s were not thick on the ground here, either. This is Colt, Smith & Wesson or Ruger country, anything else is frowned upon (however ridiculous that might be).
You can roll a turd in peanuts, dip it in chocolate, and it still ain't no damn Baby Ruth.
I picked one up used with a 6 inch barrel on it from a gun shop a number of years ago I have never truly rung it out but it shot decent , I am a Smith and Wesson fan K17 ‘s
Although I've had several Dan Wessons that were great shooters, the 22LR version I owned wasn't very accurate. It also had a bad habit of sometimes shaving lead and hitting you in the face with splatter. Though it wouldn't scare me off from trying another, it was a big disappointment compared to the 357 and 44 magnum DW's I owned at at the time.
If I could find one at a decent price I'd buy it. As it is, the Rock Island .22 revolver is looking pretty good. Except I can't find one of those either.
If anyone wants to let a 6" barrel go...I am interested. I've had my Monson Mass gun for maybe 25 years. I'd been enamored by them since I could read as a kid in the mid 80s. Pops had a pistol pack 357. I had a whooped 44 for a bit too.
But I have 100s of miles with my 22 and probably a few tons of New Mexico jackrabbits as well. If I could see them, I could hit them. Several over 100 yards.
6" vented heavy if anyone wants to move a barrel plz.
