Wife's 2009 Buick was acting up. Speedo bouncing up and down kicking off the cruise control stuff like that. Was thinking it had something to do with the speed sensor on the transmission. Took it in and they found a bunch of chewed up wires. WTH. My suburban started acting up too. It was parked out in the yard and I could see a couple of rabbits standing up on their hind legs underneath it. Sure enough, they had chewed up some of the wiring harness in a couple of of places including chewing the wires off one of the oxygen sensors. They must like the leftover salt on the undercarriage. I have noticed they dug holes in the yard under my running boards where I park too. Open season!

Some wire harnesses have wire insulation made from vegetable products.

Great idea, huh?

My nephew for a while raised a lot of hounds use them for tiles hunting basically. Well there was a cat strutted around in front of the kennels and a couple of dogs got excited enough I don't know the details but they got loose. The cat ran up into his truck ( like an 06 f150 EcoBoost). Well the fight ensued within the frame of the truck and destroyed the wiring harness. That cost him quite a bit to get fixed and it was still never quite right and just last week he traded it off because the turbo sensors or something like that kept going out he's blaming on the wiring harness not being something right they were thinking.

Well, you don't want to be warming up the globe with plastic wire insulation, do you?
