So I plan on buying a KLR soon. Then started the rabbit hole searching… I came across videos of guys buying and installing tire chocks in cargo trailers.
Some of those cargo trailers are pretty elaborate, they basically turned them into toy haulers.
Anyone here did it?

You might do a search on here.
There have been a couple of threads, with pics, over the years.

Built mine in 2003. I have $5200 in it which includes the trailer purchase price. It has two full beds, 21 cf fridge, 6’ countertop, roof top a/c, & it hauls 2 ATV’s. It is a 16’ tandem axle.
Benefits include: zero highway sway, higher quality furnishings, multi-functional use, configured to your specs, etc.
Bought it with double doors in the rear & just had it upgraded to a ramped tailgate when I replaced the ATV’s with a UTV.

I like the idea for myself. I dont want cabinets and would rather have open shelving and a descent bed.

Here's your chance to win a custom cargo trailer conversion in a raffle. It's a very nice trailer and the raffle is for a good cause. CARGO TRAILER RAFFLE

I have been looking for one myself. I like the utility of it. Can use it for a lot of things.

Its the only way to go for getting exactly what you need and long term durability.
Just order one custom with escape windows and RV door, v-nosed of course. You can also order them framed up for roof AC and/or fans. I rather a framed hole in the side for a window unit.

I have a cargo trailer, the idea of converting but have not started yet. My plan is more minimalist than many I see as I want to haul my bike/atv/lawn mower and use my plethora of camping equipment as the living equipment. Install some windows and figure out a cot set up, maybe insulate and wire.
