Lotta people said the same thing when they outlawed them here. Many {actually the vast majority} haven't complied and kept their rifles. The thing is, you never see any at the range or afield anymore. They kept them alright but they don't dare use them anymore.

From what I understand, their is a grandfather clause. If your state outlaws them outright.....well...

That's because there was a grandfather clause in the 94 assault weapons ban. There is none here. You either registered your "assault rifles" within a year after passage of the bill or they became illegal. Mere possession of an unregistered gun or magazine of over 10 round capacity is a felony that carries a 10 year prison sentence.

I hope they do pass this and it is signed by potato head. We have the SCOTUS on our side right now. This would be shot down and that would be the end of all of the antigun policies. If they think the Opinion was bad for the anti's against the New York decision, imagine what will be said when the congress goes directly against the decision.
