Hi all, I'm looking for a current production variable with the following features: - Adjustable parallax down to 20 yards. AO or side focus OK.
- Magnification maxing out at about 16-20x. Higher minimum OK.
- Maximum ~45mm objective. 40mm preferable for mounting flexibility.
- Robust and repeatable adjustments.
- Decent adjustment range.
- Price say $600-$1500ish.
My Google-fu has been weak. Know of anything out there? Use case is informal three-position target shooting for both rimfire and centrefire on a few different hunting and sporting rifles up to .30-06 SPRG, out to about 300 yards (it will hop around and get sighted in a lot).

You won't see many GOOD target scopes in 40mm.

What about a fixed power SS or their 3-15. A fixed 16 to 20x 40 could do it. Make or model number? Sightron S-Tac 4-20 is a great scope for the money I went to look that one up and it seems to have a 50mm objective. But next to it on the site was a S-TAC FFP 3-16x42 Zero Stop that has a 42mm objective, focuses down to 10m. Looks promising and 16x is at the bottom of the power window I'm looking for. 18x-20x is about perfect but 16x could work just fine. I have a 10-50x60mm LRMOA that I like just fine. Punched paper at 600m in the rain with it. Sightron seems good unless things have changed.

What about a fixed power SS or their 3-15. A fixed 16 to 20x 40 could do it. Make or model number? No idea on the AO ranges of anything mentioned... 300 yards? SWFA 10X or 12X. https://www.swfa.com/swfa-ss-3-15x42-tactical-rifle-scope-3.htmlhttps://www.swfa.com/swfa-16x42-ss-30mm-riflescope-105771.htmlOr, get over the 40-45mm, go Nightforce SHV 4-14x50 or others in your price range. https://www.amazon.com/NIGHTFORCE-4-14x50mm-Illuminated-Reticle-Hunting/dp/B094TSY7Z1If proven repeatability (as stated), RTZ and zero hold matter, use that as a priority and your options will narrow drastically. And doesn't include a bunch mentioned above. Nightforce, Bushnell LRTS, LRHS, LRHS2, DMR, etc and the SWFAs in your price range, maybe a few others. All known performers. Good luck.

For what you are wanting to spend you can get 3 SWFA SS Classics. They flat out work as designed with glass a tad better than the STACs for $300 although the 4-20x50 STAC in duplex is a heckuva scope. The 3-16 is almost as good. The STAC MOA reticles are very thin. Pretty useless below 8x except for maybe full sun on a target. The STAC illuminated FFP will be better but im not a big fan of either reticle they offer. The Mil-Hash being the better of the two IMO.
That Midas TAC is a surprisingly well made scope too. Not a fan of chicom scopes but if i was going to buy one, that would be the one i would get.
How about a TRACT Tekoa? They are $500 atm.

Looks like smoking deals on those Sightrons mentioned at CL. Plus some Japanese made Siii LR models for $650-$700, a price point many desire! Like this one. https://cameralandny.com/shop/brand...013a-2caf-00163e90e196?variation=3103454
