But they can fix all of this with more of your tax dollars....

They need all the tax dollars they can get on the road to socialism and also for food, housing and Healthcare for they hope future voters from the southern border invasion.

I agree the trees don't look as bad as they did in 2011 but it's still a scorcher summer. I'm ready for it to be over...

Do believe I could make time for a compressor swap if I have to live through summer in Texas without my main A/C unit.
we didn't have ac when we were kids, I'll fix it when the weather cools off in fall.

Based on what?

Not saying you are wrong, but what is your basis for the above conclusion?

Recorded data of high/low temperatures.

Please share that data showing us where there have been no record high temperatures in TX since 2003. Unless the below post explains the difference

No. It's easy to find.

Just share the data you already have. We don't know what that is, so it won't be "easy to find" for us. We have no way of knowing what you looked at.

Please do share.

It was around 109 daily for about 4 days straight which with our humidity feels like an oven. August is normally when summer really sucks.

I remember both of those years, was on a backhoe

Currently big fire about 15 or so miles due south of us! Lots of wind today. Lot of smoke

I remember 1980 too. Late wife was pregnant with our first who was born that September. Miserable hot summer for her. Hurricane Allen broke that heat wave!

Starting to remind me of 1980, damn dry with some accompanying heat

I have soaker hoses around the shop, well head and equipment shed. The cracks in the ground were getting ridiculous.

The wife and me are "snowbirds".
When it starts getting cold, we head south.
We've had over 40 days (sw OK) of 100°+ days*.
Record was in 2011 at 117°.
I'm ready to become a "sunbird".
"Sunbirds" head north in the summer when it gets hot.
Got a buddy who spends his summers in Maine. Think I'm gonna start stowing away in his Suburban! 😉

* - there's more to come! 🔥🌡☀️😡

Here's 120 years worth of annual monthly temps for Dallas. Very little change
