Seems like a typical summer to me nothing out of the ordinary. It's the climate change nuts pushing this crap. But they can fix all of this with more of your tax dollars.... They need all the tax dollars they can get on the road to socialism and also for food, housing and Healthcare for they hope future voters from the southern border invasion.

I agree the trees don't look as bad as they did in 2011 but it's still a scorcher summer. I'm ready for it to be over...

lol, my main ac unit has been out since last nov. haven't fixed it yet, do have ac in the bedrooms but just open the windows in the rest of the house. not paying a 600-800 electric bill either. can't get anyone to just replace the compressor, they want to replace the whole unit. when I get time in the fall I'll replace it myself. Do believe I could make time for a compressor swap if I have to live through summer in Texas without my main A/C unit. we didn't have ac when we were kids, I'll fix it when the weather cools off in fall.

Don't believe the bullshit. Texas hasn't had a record high temperature since 2003. Based on what? Not saying you are wrong, but what is your basis for the above conclusion? Recorded data of high/low temperatures. Please share that data showing us where there have been no record high temperatures in TX since 2003. Unless the below post explains the difference What they are doing is reporting a "record high" for specific dates. Like, today or yesterday. Not a true climatological record high. No. It's easy to find. Just share the data you already have. We don't know what that is, so it won't be "easy to find" for us. We have no way of knowing what you looked at. Please do share.

supposedly about the 3-4th hottest summer on record so far behind 1980 and 2011. Very dry with only a trace of rain at DFW in 30+ days (second to 2011). Lots of wildfires which i don't remember from 2011. it only has broken a record high for THAT day once or twice this summer. It was around 109 daily for about 4 days straight which with our humidity feels like an oven. August is normally when summer really sucks. I remember both of those years, was on a backhoe

Currently big fire about 15 or so miles due south of us! Lots of wind today. Lot of smoke

Pretty typical, or at least what used to be typical summer around here. Fact is, since 2011 we’ve had more summers than not that were unusually cool by our standards. Any data to support your comments?

I remember both of those years, was on a backhoe I remember 1980 too. Late wife was pregnant with our first who was born that September. Miserable hot summer for her. Hurricane Allen broke that heat wave!

Starting to remind me of 1980, damn dry with some accompanying heat
I have soaker hoses around the shop, well head and equipment shed. The cracks in the ground were getting ridiculous.

The wife and me are "snowbirds". When it starts getting cold, we head south. We've had over 40 days (sw OK) of 100°+ days*. Record was in 2011 at 117°. I'm ready to become a "sunbird". "Sunbirds" head north in the summer when it gets hot. Got a buddy who spends his summers in Maine. Think I'm gonna start stowing away in his Suburban! 😉
