I currently have a pair of 8.5x42 el , 8x30 SLC and 7x42 SLC. I am thinking about selling both of the 8 powers and buying a pair of 8x32 or 8x42 NL Pure's. My question is will there be a significant diffrence between them and the Pures ?, and does anyone have any experience with both the 32 and 42 Pure's? I dont know if my aging eyes can take advantage of the greater exit pupil of the 42's

I have the 8x42 Pures and have owned or looked thru all your current Binos. They're all good. I really like how the Pure 8x42's have small feeling in hand, I don't feel much difference in them vs other 32's.

The ergos of the NL pure are fantastic. As JBB111 said, NL 42s (8x or 10x, IMHO) are not much different than other mfrs 32s. FWIW, don't short yourself - go with the 42s - this from a guy who passed the half-century mark several years ago.
I never thought I'd grow up to be a grumpy old man, but I did, and I'm killin' it.

I finally got some EL 10 x 42 last year and I was amazed how good the glass was in them compared to my Leupold Porro Prism 10 x 40s- and the Leupold were very good glass when they came out. Right after I got my ELs I saw an ad for the new NL Pures. I'm afraid to look at them as the ELs were right at the limit of my budget for glass - probably for the rest of my life if my wife finds out.... but it's hard to believe glass can get much better than the EL glass, but the reports on the Pures have been pretty positive

I had 10x42 EL, 8x32 EL and sold them both for some 12x42 NL Pure. To my eyes, there is a slight difference in glass and clarity, but not significant enough to make the jump for most. I got the 12's because I found the 10's weren't enough for West Texas aoudad hunting. The Pures do feel better in my hands and coupled with a tripod stud and forehead rest are very steady. I still have some 8x30 CL Companions that I use for looking out the pasture.

I have had almost every generation of Swarovski and Leica binoculars. I can say that the 8X32 NL Pure is the best yet. That covers optics and ergonomics both. I have the EL Swarovision rangefinding binoculars in 10X42 and I bought the Leica 8X32 rangefinders to get a smaller package. They are smaller, but I am going to sell them and keep the Swarovskis. The 8X32 is probably the best all around binocular you can get. Exit pupil on the 8X32 is the same as the 10X42, and the size difference makes the 8X32 the better package. I have had a lot of binoculars and of what I have left, the 8X32 NL Pure would be the last to go...

If I were to start over, I'd want a nice set of 8x and a set of 12x.

I just really want a pair of 12x42 Pures …
I had a pair of 12x42 Nikons years ago and it was just to hard to hold them still. I hear the Pures are much better and seem like a great western deer hunting setup

For me, they are still tripod glass, but do better than EL’s for a “quick look”. IMO, the wider FOV helps hide the shake, but it’s still to much for me, but I’m probably in the minority and don’t even like 10X for handheld. I just really want a pair of 12x42 Pures …

I hear the Pures are much better to handle less shakes than others due to the FOV but this is only hearsay so I would like to hear from more actual Pure owners. Thanks.

Has anybody done a serious comparison in the field between the Swarovski NL Pure and the Leica Noctivid, say in 10x42?
I have had and used a 10x42 Noctivid for several years, and it is outstanding, but have no experience with the NL Pure.

I have 8.5x42 ELs and 10x42 NLs. To be honest I don’t think the price and performance difference between the two warrants getting the NLs. I actually like the eye cups better on the ELs and there’s only the tiniest glass difference between them. Ergonomically the NLs are a little better along with the field of view, but for what you save and what you get with the ELs you won’t go wrong with buying them. My honest opinion.
