ATFu has their guidance/threat/crime prevention letter formed it seems. In brief, with a barrel less than 16” an AR pistol with a brace substantially resembling a butt stock becomes a Short Barreled Rifle. The minute it is promulagated (if it even is) there will be immediate legal actions to put it on hold.
I took mine out fishing this morning and it fell overboard.
