Nice buck Lonster he looks like he was chasing em down. I'm surprised you caught one but that's what they look like when you do just like they advertise. Did you hit both big bones?
Congratulations brother.
Good luck and shoot straight y'all

Where you able to save any of the meat or was it truly, indeed, ruined?

Where you able to save any of the meat or was it truly, indeed, ruined? I gave the buck to my friend to make jerky out of everything but the back straps and the tender loins. When he removed the front shoulders they were totally ruined, looked like cranberry sauce, almost half of the neck was the same way. Lonster

Must have been a combo of high velocity and bunch of bone shrapnel? Though none of us would starve to death w/o every morsel of meat off our game, it does 'hurt one's feelings" to see a shot end up like that. hey, I've seen it happen many times, and will again...Lord willing!

I agree with 51gr of TAC. Great speed and devastating on deer/pigs. Good luck and work up from 48gr. Thanks, Tom

I've gotten accurate loads with stiff charges of TAC and CFE-223. Both give just shy of 3,200 fps in a 22" Model 700.

If Montana had a standing army, a 270 Win with Federal Blue Box 130's would be the standard issue.

Anyone try AA 2230 with this bullet in the 308 Win? Looking for a reliable killing load with reduced recoil in my Savage M_99 carbine. I've been running 180's and they kick like a mule
