Well damn thats a bummer. I like to eat what I shoot as I don't like wasting the meat. Maybe try spicing it up and doing trail sticks. What do you do with the meat?

Aoudad is fine. Older ones will be a little tough, but the ewes taste great.

Steaks, burger, it's all good. I usually kick myself for not taking more meat from them.

The only reason not to keep the meat is laziness. It tastes fine. Get the hide off asap, and get it on ice asap.

Guess I'd have to try it for myself.. Back in 1995 I drew a Rocky Mountain goat tag 1 out 4 issued with 1883 applicants with 9 preference points. Everybody told me they weren't edible but how many could actually know that to be true from 1st hand experience? It proved out that it was very good eating.. Even before the internet forums of today, BULLSH*T was dispensed at the same rate and volume . BULLSH*T started before christ was a corporal. Lots of people eat goat meat maybe cause that's all there is, I don't know but there would be Aoudad backstraps, roasts, and a pile of ground auodad for chili and what not before I'd condemn it. Just like all the assh*les saying " orange man bad"...mb

If you turn them into sausage they are edible. The ewes and young ones are much better. They are impressive animals but I hate the freaking worthless varmints. They way outcompete the native animals. We shoot them like feral hogs.....kill everyone you can. Once you have them you never get completely rid of them.
