ALASKA is a "HARD COUNTRY for OLDMEN". (But if you live it wide'ass open, balls'to the wall, the pedal floored, full throttle, it is a delightful place, to finally just sit-back and savor those memories while sipping Tequila).

I have a friend up in that area of the Brooks Range guiding sheep hunters and I believe his outfit ferries people and supplies out of Deadhorse to the south east.
He is a pilot but does not currently own a Cub. I could still see him offer to help with a little flying... these types of stories bother me even though I know this is a part of living/hunting/flying in the North.
I agree that it is odd that no more has been released on this story.
Condolences to the family of the pilot that did lose their life.
