Always had an affection for four inch N frames. Just picked up this 624 44 Special yesterday when it arrived at the LGS. The second gun I've bought from CBinNH here. Great guy to deal with. And good taste in guns. Not sure how much I'll get to shoot it before we move but I can lay my hands pretty easily on one of my ammo cans with some 44 Special loads. I am headed to the range tomorrow and will send a few down range after a couple rounds of skeet with a new shotgun.
Chronographs, bore scopes and pattern boards have broke a lot of hearts.

No. We considered the North Country a few years ago but realized after 40 years away in much freer states, we could never live under that yoke. We are moving to a tiny town in Idaho. Closer to mom and centrally located to medical specialists for Etta. We have one specialist here but it’s nine plus months to get seen.

Nice piece Mart. I traded into the same (though with Culina grips) with a forum member some time ago. Great piece.

I had a 6 inch model 624 back in the 90's when S&W made the special of 44 specials. I bought the revolver for $250.00 from a south Baltimore gun shop who had to many on hand and just wanted to clear them out.
I shot "Skeeter Skelton" 44 special load in the darn thing and was quite surprised at the amount of muzzle flip Skeeters old load generated. Maybe I was just a wuss back then.
