Muzzle brake disqualifies it from purchase or use Yeah, I dont buy guns with muzzle breaks either. I have 1, on a .300 Weatherby. Keeping it around because my wife is going to use it if she ever draws a bison tag in Wyoming Make sure that she and everyone within earshot are wearing hearing protection when she fires it. With a 300 Weatherby and a brake, that would be everyone in the same zip code.

If you do buy used, remove the bolt & look at the rear barrel flat through the extractor cut. If it has a “B” (Berger) or “C” (Criterion), you’re golden. If there is no mark at all, you’re playing “Kimber Roulette” on barrel dimensions. Probably why Win88’s previous Kimber wouldn’t shoot. I owe this knowledge to “MCMXI” on this site. Well, that's news to me, Bergara and/or Criterion barrels. Thanks to you and 1911 for the information.

I have a Hunter in 243 and it is dahm near perfect. Light, handy, minimal recoil, and about 1 MOA with any factory ammo I have tried. The only way they could make it better:
1) Thread it for a suppressor. I think my barrel is too thin and haven't had it threaded. I am interested to find out if this barrel has the same profile.
2) Ugly stock. Easy to fix with a rattle can or something more durable like cerekote.
Having just discovered this new version which addresses both issues, I am seriously considering selling one of my non-kimber rifles to fund a new Hunter Pro.

Would like to see one in 7-08. It would check a lot of boxes for me.
