I have had this gun for a few years , trainer model .
Nikon EFR scope , stock gun .
Have had this rifle put a lot of smiles on my face .
Groundhog slaying rifle .
Shoots under an inch at 100 , and it smacks em dead , only ones I haven’t retrieved were standing beside hole and fell into hole when shot .
Recently been on two farms , first was soybean field at early growth was doing consistent head shots at 100-130 yds shooting across vehicle , got five out of there before beans got to high to see groundhogs .
Another place was a farm that had a logging business with a large stack of logs out behind shop , got six from there so far , 20-80yd shots across shooting sticks , 5 head shots and one through the neck that exited the shoulder .
Was surprised by that one as it was probably 50% that didn’t exit heads .
Maybe the neck shot didnt hit any bone .
Anyway all were drt .
Love this rifle , scope is really clear too .
Just had to brag about a good rifle I guess 😀

The 17HMR has a solid slot in a rifle lineup IMO, & there are for damn sure no flies on a CZ RF.

Bought my CZ 452 .17 HMR in 2003, and its very first 3-shot group at 100 yards measured .24 inch. Since then it's accounted for a bunch of varmints from half-pound ground squirrels to 10-pound jackrabbits. One thing I noticed pretty early was that if I cleaned the barrel, accuracy went to hell for a few rounds, so I quit cleaning it entirely over a decade ago, and it still shoots well enough to consistently kill ground squirrels at 150 yards--if the wind and nut behind the bolt are pretty consistent.

Made the "mistake" this spring of letting Eileen shoot it while shooting ground squirrels on a friend's ranch, who was almost begging us to help reduce the population. She liked it so much I purchased a Ruger American Rifle for her, which shoots almost as well as the CZ. We filled up a quarter jar with the empties that weren't lost in the grass, and the RAR shoots almost as well as the CZ--but not quite....

Have had a 17 HMR in a single six , a bushnell variable , don’t recall zoom at moment.
Accurate
Had a Taurus , similar to the raging bull model , also a variable powered scope , very accurate
Great little handgun .
Had one in a New England single shot bull barrel
A Cooper, probably the most accurate
An Anshutz , 54 , never warmed up to it . Bedding issues I guess , would change POI . Grouped well , just seemed too group in different POI from time to time .
Ruger 77/22 with boat paddle stock , ok gun , but never warmed up to it either .

Also tried the 17HM2
Seemed all of them split necks and accuracy varied from time to time .
Had a CZ 452 Varmint ,proved to be a waste of weight .
A 64 Annie in sporter configuration
Another 64 with beaver tail fore end
Finally decided the HMR was the better choice .

Did see a Ruger MKII 17HM2 in a 5.5” barrel I think it was that Bill Myers’s built a barrel for . It was very accurate .
I don’t recall if he said anything about split necks though .
He reaked havoc on black birds out his shop door .
If I remember right I believe he was busting them at 100yds or so .

My cz 453 17 hmr is extremely accurate using Hornady ammo. That single set trigger is sweet! I bought a bunch of the Hornady ammo several years ago for $13.50 a box once I figured out the cz liked it.

Never had the HMR, but have a 17Mach 2 that is super accurate. Great squirrel gun.
