I am just about to finish up my 6mm BR build and wanting to use 105-109 gr. bullets. What powders are y'all using and what vel. are you getting? I am using Lapua brass.

My spec's are Tikka action, McGowen #7 contour barrel 7 twist, 26", factory trigger lighten to 1.25 lbs.

Thanks

I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

i always wished some gun manufacture would build some cheaper rifle in a 6 BR for small kids to use for hunting deer .i plan on letting my grandson use a AR-15 556 / 223 , but if i had a nice little 6BR rifle i certainly would have grandson use the 6 BR.

Tikka and a #7 contour? What are you doing for a stock and how are you going to feed it? Mount/rings/scope? Application? Hint.

Mine are all no-turn yet snuggerish, with a couple thou' neck clearance. My most recent Lots of Lapooey put me at .268" loaded diameter,so I'm driving a .265" TiN bushing and no(undersized) expander ball in Reddings. I seat a number of different ways, depending upon the bullet and rifle, but either Redding Comp Seaters or better yet a Generic RCBS Grey Box Bitch in 6mm of some sort(they are not chambering specific). I shoot alotta 105,8's,10's and 12's,depending upon rifle and application. Were I beamed up to be dropped off to points unknown, for an application unknown,it'd be 105 Hornie HPBT's for me,as they are rugged Holy Terrors on Critters. Hint.

26" is quite a bit too long for me,if only because my longest started at 28" and is now 21" and I'd never go longer and that for my application(s). I'd chop for balance and that ain't 26". Hint.(grin)

Lever' for me,no matter the projectile. Because throat/neck clearances are all over the place with different reamers and I shoot moly,I'll talk in broad brushstrokes regarding charge weights and cite that with a 105 Smooch,I'm likely somewhere between 31.9 and 32.1grs of same, with 400's.(grin) All of mine are bushed, except my Montucky and Tikka's tend to have less clearance on the 'pin, than 700's do,which is a good thang. Brass lives forever, due partly to Skookum chambers and the balance the aforementioned Sizer. Hint.

I shoot a LOT of different chamberings and the 6BR done right,is a straight Vulcan Mind Fhuqk and Giant Killer...you're gonna schit. Hint..............

Mine is a no turn neck ( I did have 2 different BR's that were turn necks, don't want to do that again). For right now it is in a B&C Target/Comp stock (as that is what I had on hand). I have a 20 MOA pic rail on it and I a few scopes laying around to play with. I have a Nightforce NSX 5.5-22, Athlon Are's 4.5-27, Arken 6-24, and a few others. As for feeding, I have CTR bottom metal (which is what the stock is inlet for) so I am planning on trying those mag's first, but if it does not work out well, I have regular Tikka bottom metal as well, which give me a little more mag options to play with. If all else fails, I can single feed as this is kind of a play toy as oppose to a hunting rig.

As for actual bullets, I have on hand, Berger 105's and 109's, Nosler 105 RDF's, and Hornady 108 ELDM

The Nightfarce can't hang, because their erector travels sucks and it's SFP. I'd be tempted to go Barkin' Arken due mass alone,so as to take some sting out of that 26" in that handle. While I prefer the 4-16x version, the 6-24x do nice thangs. Hint.

CTR metal/mags won't do you any favors in said chambering, nor will Teeker "regular" OEM bottom/mags. I'd cut to the fhuqking chase and go AICS DBM in the CTR inlet,as there are some reliable BR mags available for same. Going single shot on a 30-06 length action,to feed 6BR,ain't how I'd roll. Hint.(grin)

As boolits go,the 108 steals the Show. Toss the RDF's offa fhuqking cliff. Hint..............
