i have 2 black labs that i use for everything labs are intended to be used for.
they really enjoy playing fetch w/ a frisbee, and i like throwing it for them because 1) it gets them to look for their retrieve while it is in the air, and 2) the acrobatics of a dog getting frisbees is entertaining.
after watching my female lab do several particularly acrobatic retrieves in a row, i started thinking that there was a good possibility that she could be hurt on one of her landings.
do you think that retrieval games w/ a frisbee is any more dangerous to a dog than games w/ a tennis ball or dummy launcher (they both immensely enjoy the dummy launcher, too)?
Hunting is not a matter of life or death. It is much more important than that.

My dog gets excited about anything he can retrieve. He puts the same amount of enthusiasm into evrything. If anything I did to keep him entertained was putting him in jepordy of injury, then everything I do to entertain/exercise him would. The landing part after catching a frisbee is pretty intense, but no more intense than the way he chases fallen chuckar on rim rock.
Nate
I like to ask question as if to make myself appear stupid...that way, I avoid all posibilities of being held responsible!
