That's not how they operate, they notify your tax preparer or you by mail with a notice to appear with your documents at their location. I'm not sure about the next step if you fail to comply, but a friend did not comply some years back, and the IRS locked everything, his bank accounts, his place of business, where some of my tools were stored. I don't think they come knocking on doors, but that was before they hired 87,000 clowns.
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

A hunting buddy of mine had two IRS Agents come up and knock on his door. He was a landscaper and guilty as hell, only reason they went after him was because he was the Chief of Police in a one horse town.
He's now a felon (for $60K in back taxes), between the lawyers (he needed two, one criminal and one civil), back taxes to the Feds who then alerted the state and penalties and interest it cost him north of $500K. He also had to pay the back taxes, SS and FICA for his three workers.
Since he had an exemplary career as a police officer, Viet Nam Veteran and college graduate they didn't send him to jail.
My advice is not to cheat on your taxes.

Why are people paying taxes to an illegal government? The republic has not levied any taxes on citizen yet.

Don't give the IRS a reason to want to see you I blew that a long time ago when I voted for Reagan. Been voting Republican across the board since. F the IRS, you can't beat the Gestapo.
