How do these powders compare in general and for loading 30-06 and 300WSM? I have read AA4350 is slower.

The test I did with the three 4350 powders in my 30-06 all loaded the same,Accurate gave me the highest velocity, followed closely behind it was IMR,leaving H as the lowest by around 30ft per second slower than the fastest which would probably be equal to about one grain of powder. When comparing how each one filled the case,H is the heaviest per grain,so it fills the case less, followed by IMR,leaving Accurate as the lightest filling the case volume the most.

I've used both in .30-06. Yes, I think AA4350 is slightly slower, but this might vary with powder lot. Data, of course, isn't interchangeable, but charge weights are close. As for accuracy and velocity, little difference between the two powders. I prefer the Hodgdon Extreme powders and went exclusively with H4350 some years ago to keep things simple, but AA4350 works well.

Thank you both for sharing your experiences. I use H4350 in both calibers but AA4530 seems to be more available these days. It seems it can be an option, at least in the 30-06.

I found the same as most of the above, using 1/2 grn. more AA4350 to H4350. Also gained 30+ fps., 06, 24 inch tube, 168grn Berger VLD hunting. Pays to have options.

Whatever you can get these days. Ran a comparison with IMR4350, H4350 and A4350 in the .257 Roberts maybe 3-4 years ago, and with those particular batches A4350 was closer to IMR4831 in burn-rate. Those batches of H4350 and IMR4350 were pretty close. All of which doesn't mean all that much, because burn-rate will vary some depending on the cartridge, bullet weight, and primer.

49.5 gr. A4350, PPU brass, Fed 210 primers and 145 gr. Speer HCs gives 2788 fps from my 23” custom barreled Ruger 1A 7x57 and averages about 1 to 1.25 inches at 100 meters. On the occasional day when “the moon is in the 7th house and Jupiter aligns with Mars”, I can squeeze 3/4” groups out of it.🙄 All-in-all, a pretty acceptable deer combo.😀
