Good write up. We were all waiting for it.
Thanks for taking the time.
Makes me want a girlfriend of my own!

A G-19 is hard to top as an all around great EDC.
The G5's have definitely better triggers than previous versions............noticeably better.

Good presentation is good presentation. I’m not as fast to the first shot yet but the accuracy or ease of making hits at speed is greatly improved with the dot.
I have a dot class being set up for the fall. Hopefully I can catch on. When you say you’re not as fast on the first shot, at what distance is that happening? And how much slower are you?

MM I agree on both points. The Gen 5 trigger isn't any lighter than the Gen 4 trigger, but it is way smoother in all its stages than the Gen 4. I still mostly carry a G19 Gen 4, but have started carrying my G17 Gen 5 non-MOS when I travel or out in the field. The Gen 5 seems to be an all around improvement over all previous generations. Mine was exceptional accurate with Gold Dot 147 grains.

I need to get out and compare back to back but 15 yards is our normal distance. My first shot is maybe a half a second slower than it was. However my whole focus has shifted to A zones only so I’m probably blaming the dot more than I should. I got to thinking and Bill drills, devil drill and the test are where I need to focus on and see how my times compare. My first shots on the Eli drill were 2.54 with a 19 and irons, 2.97 with my 19 MOS.

Nice pistol Flave! Ever since I bought a Sig P365XL and put a Holosun 507K on it, I’ve been thinking about sending my G19 off to get milled. I really like an optic on my carry handgun.

I sent my ol G23 slide off to be milled for my Holosun 507k x2 about two weeks ago. Anxiously awaiting it’s return! Hope to share pics and targets shortly after it comes home.

Doc_Holidude I think milling for the optic of your choice has a lot of benefits. But I also think we are in the infancy of all this. I think sooner or later we are going to see standardization and everything is going to look similar to the SCS type setup. But it will take a while of course. Off to a Level One this morning for some more R&D on this thing.

Agreed…think we’re nearing a stage that seems comparable to when rifle scopes were invented and then eventually became more widely used over iron sights. I’m not sure we’ll see an auto pistol made with no sights/sight groove, like most rifles made without sights these days, but who really knows. For those who want one, the smaller reflex type optics are getting better, less costly, and gaining a lot of traction in the market. I’m all for it…as long as my sights are co-witnessed. Win-win! 😎

Doc_Holidude The co-witnessed sights is a big plus and it ends up with a lower height MOS. Double up on the win-win.

Doc_Holidude That's kind of an odd combination where the 507K is designed for a slim line (G43x MOS, G48 MOS, Sig P365X/XL, etc.). Any particular reason you chose it over a 507C?
