TY for sharing Clark. My grandfather had a Marlin 44-40, but it "disappeared" after he passed away, and nobody knows anything about it.

Soft cast bullets with proper sizing and lube will shoot well in a lot of neglected barrels.

Quickload is a bit off...and I think they use CIP for the 44-40, not psi or cup unless it has been updated since I trashed my copy.

I purchased the Pressuretrace II strain gage system and have tested nearly 1,000 shots.
