I put a Stainless Hawkeye back into the rotation and remembered how hard it is to get the safety moved off from the rearmost position. When these were my primary hunting rifle I got used to keeping the safety in the middle position but it still gets bumped and sometimes you want the safety all the way back.
I know that Phil Shoemaker worked a solution for these small safety levers with a lump of Devcon...anyone have pictures of this? All the pics seem to have been taken down.
I can think of several ways to do it, but no reason to reinvent the wheel.

Have you tried messaging him directly? He's 458Win and tends to respond if not out in the field.

I remember seeing a pic of it. Didn’t seem very elaborate, just a lump formed over the tab to extend it. I understand why Mr. Phil would need such a modification, but I never felt the standard one was a problem for anyone not possibly facing thousand-pound hairballs bristling with pointy stuff.
I carry mine in the locked position unless I’m still-hunting or on stand.
By all means PM him.
What fresh Hell is this?
