If it's hardcore nostalgia, Gunbroker is it, but prepare to pay. I've been watching for a decent 581 and finally caved and bought a CZ 457. Will pass it on if I come across one. Good luck!

I guess they cost more now than the $44.95 my mother paid for mine in 1967, huh?
Merry Christmas!
What fresh Hell is this?

I,d trade a 582 rem for a cz 457! Boy Howdy! They’re great old guns and mine (581) has a lot of history, but I’m not looking to get any more. I wouldn’t mind a 580 if I ran across a nice one locally at a civilized price, but I ain’t looking.

I had wanted a 581 for a while. Ran a couple up on gunbroker but went higher than I wanted. Ended up finding one in a pawnshop on the way back from vacation a few weeks ago. Nice 22s hope you find one

They mostly are higher priced because they shoot lights out and the 582 is tube fed. Holds a bunch! Good luck

I picked up a Remington 581 with some stock minor stock finish issues yet appeared unfired at my local gun shop for $275.00 may be 4 years ago. I thought the rifle was high priced yet wanted the rifle for my son........AS THE RIFLE WAS A "LEFTY" 581.
NOW......$275.00 is a steal....as most things these days.

I was fortunate to pick up 2 several years back, one LH in used condition that needed the stock re finished. The other appears to be un fired in the original box with all the paperwork that is reserved for a future grandchild if I am so blessed.

Another gentleman has a 580 for sale here on the Fire for $315, IIRC.
