1895 (with letter) for me condition is not that great, bringing north of 3k, I know its a sin to speak of an ongoing auction, so hang me (going by this one, I have one that should fetch 4-5K) At least that rifle appeared "right". A rare Savage rifle with good condition all things considered. The seller did well! And the buyer got a good rifle. In addition to perceived sales prices somewhat higher than a few years ago, I think there is some uneducated hysteria buying going on. Seen plenty of average dogs and even bubbafied dogs sell for $1k and more. Most here can tell the difference. A theory is that the hysteria comes from the social media side of things. I'd blame covid before a new book.

That one sold 9/8/2002, item # 2153 in the RIA. That was a big Savage lever auction... Deavers auction, maybe. I got a couple out of that auction. Wasn't smart enough to have bought a truck load.
Savage...never say "never". Rick...

I’m obviously still pretty butt-hurt.

If he got anywhere close to his asking price, he did quite well. I had a similar gun but in 303 and with the flame checkering and more figure in the wood... it also had provenance and I didn't get anything close to that price a few years back.

I know this is an old post, but I know where there are 5 Scouts sitting in a field next to a house. Been there for at least the last 15 years as I see them when I go to my deer camp. In NW Louisiana about 20 miles east of Texas. If anyone is interested, PM me and I will stop in and ask about them.

I read this about three times before I figured out it’s International Scouts not Boy Scouts . I couldn’t figure out why Boy Scouts would be sitting in a field. Brain fart I guess!!🤪🤪
Well we're Green and we're Gold, and we play better when it's cold. All us Cheese heads have our favorite superstar. We love Brett Favre.
