Just curious as to actually manufactured Smith & Wesson rifle ammo years ago. I have some in 308 Winchester and it is loaded with 180 round nose bullets. Curious as to the manufacturer of the bullets as round nose in this caliber are quite uncommon.

I was wondering the same thing. Got some S&W 30-06 brass with a rifle years ago. It shot good & lasted a long time. For some reason I cant remember, I got the impression it was WW made.

Alcan mainly. or Fiocchi.
most shells will say "S&/w-F" for Smith and Wesson Fiocchi. I shot a ton of it. Handgun stuff was hot. shotgun shells were good but virtually unreloadable.
I still have a bunch of the handgun stuff.

Back in the 70s, I acquired some 12 gauge, some. 30-30, and some .38 Special. I had it in my head that they were all made by Fiocchi. I don't know it that was correct.
Not a real member - just an ordinary guy who appreciates being able to hang around and say something once in awhile.

Had some Smith airgun pellets and 38/357 brass that has worn well.
No idea who made the pellets, but they looked like a flared beer can and really went splat.
