Apparently the list I found was faulty. That being said, I still believe we are being played in the whole green deal thing. Fossil fuels cannot be replaced, nor coal plants at this point in history regardless of what progressives are telling us. They are killing our country, and want us totally depending on large government. The larger the government the less freedom we will have. They think big government can replace God, in this country and that's what they are pushing for.

The Becker, MN Sherco coal facility not far from me is set to be completely decommissioned by 2030 if memory serves.
How do they replace 2500 megawatts? Natural gas and solar, and then supposedly 100% off of fossil fuels by 2040. I think a back up gen system is going to become a need quickly.
Edit: Nuke free by 2040. Fossil free by 2050. It wasn't that long ago you saw Friends of Coal bumper stickers around here. Not anymore.

Your numbers are really fugged up - there are around 15 coal power plants in North Carolina alone!

There were 232 operational coal-fired power stations in the United States in 2021. Not that many compared to China or India.

We have two local plants
one 3 unit......was told it burns 13K ton daily
the other is a 2 unit....
