In reaction to that the USSR set up eastern Europe as a buffer which lasted a good 40+ years. Now the NWO folks know their plan requires Russia to be brought down or China and India can't be controlled. This is a battle for world domination, and now technology can support it. Russia must be destroyed.

The USSR didn't just "set up Eastern Europe as a buffer"; they invaded them and forcibly occupied them under military and political oppression. Eastern Europe did not want it then, and they don't want it now.

Putin does want to recreate the geopolitics of the USSR (though without Communism), he cannot be blamed for his wants, and everybody understands why he would want a buffer after WWI and WWII; but the wants of the former Soviet republics are just as valid as are his. If they don't want to be under Putin's thumb, why should they be?

If Ukraine doesn't want to be subjugated by Putin, why should they be?

If Russia is so great, and Putin is so great, why does Ukraine want no part of it?

In my life, I have found Occam's Razor to be very effective. The simple explanation is usually right. Ukraine simply wants to be left alone, but Putin simply wants to control it for Russia's benefit.

It's not rocket science, it's just human nature. No conspiracies needed, no cabals, no Q, freemasons, just the same territorial ambitions since time immemorial.

Putin wants to rebuild the USSR's geopolitical influence, but the former members don't want to be part of it.
You’re missing a simple key point.

Well more than one but let’s start with one. It was our government and covert ops that set up a puppet regime in Ukraine friendly to what the US wanted. Money laundry, bio labs, and hostile towards Russia. We opened the door to this whole thing with the corrupt, hostile towards Russia puppet regime that we put in place.

I agree with Hastings and TLL. Organizations like NATO and the UN don't go away once they have been created. They have to identify new enemies and reasons to exist to keep the money flowing. Ukraine is exactly what TLL described, a puppet regime with money laundering and bio labs set up by the US. The beneficiaries of this puppet regime were afraid their operation would be exposed which it has.

Looks like the same applies to the USSR.

Does it not appear that Belarus is much more of a puppet regime than is Ukraine?

Does that not apply equally to anything Russia does? Putin is on no moral high ground and has no place to complain.

I am neither pro-Ukraine nor pro-Russia, but Putin is the aggressor here, and he has explained why in speeches over the years.

Someone from the US claiming moral high ground after 20 years in Iraq, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Georgia, Chechnya and now still in Syria and Somalia.

This is beyond comedy and satire lol

I think it’s a sign of the moral bankruptcy on the left that one cannot criticize our various levels of “interest” in Ukraine without being called a Putin lover.

That is, one cannot comment upon those things which (at least in theory under the old citizenship model) one has control over without expressing something in line with the story we’ve been fed re: Russia having all these evil intentions re: rebuilding the USSR et al.

The banality of it aside, it calls to attention the problem we’ve had of late where leftists fail to recognize the difference between virtue signaling on social media and action informed participation in our democratic processes. This obviously is because our ruling Elites need us to wholeheartedly participate in “hate week” by “demonstrating” our subscription to “the latest thing”.

Such a transparently retarded exercise but I’m sure y’all feel great about yerselves.

Pentagon is soon sending the Excalibur class artillery munitions to Ukraine allowing heavier and deeper strikes into Russian positions. Pentagon also sending the “Super Drone”, radar deflecting surveillance systems to guide Excaliburs to targets beyond 70klm.

OBTW, Germany went full socialist, and is considering price controls on Russian energy entering Germany.

Russia replied by promising to shut off all the energy flow, if the Nazis do that.

Europe's ass is on a tee, only question is how far will Russia decide ta whap that bitch.

"Sweden's energy agency said on Tuesday it had activated the first step of a three-stage emergency gas supply plan for Western and Southern parts of the country to prepare for possible disruptions of natural gas from Russia.

The move was made after neighbouring Denmark, which supplies Sweden with piped gas, issued a similar warning on Monday."

"In Germany, prices for gasoline and public transport surged on September 1st, as government subsidies expired. The price for natural gas — which half of all households use for heating — and for electricity has skyrocketed and food prices are affected by rising inflation.

The government is trying to encourage consumers and businesses to save energy in whichever way they can to prevent a shortage during the winter months as Russia continues to reduce flows of natural gas to Germany.

The Energy Saving Ordinance comes into force today for six months. This is what it entails:

Retail stores may no longer keep their doors open throughout the day to reduce electricity consumption for air conditioning when it is hot outside — and for heating on cold winter days.

Hanover city hall in the dark at night

Public buildings and monuments have to go dark at 10 p.m.

Illuminated advertising must be switched off after 10p.m., with only a few exceptions. If advertisements serve traffic safety, they remain switched on, for example, at railroad underpasses.

Street lamps also remain on, and store windows may continue to be illuminated.

Monuments and other buildings may no longer be illuminated at night. At least not for purely aesthetic reasons. However, emergency lighting will not be switched off, and illumination is permitted for cultural events and public festivals.

In public buildings, halls and corridors will generally no longer be heated, and the temperature in offices will be limited to a maximum of 19 degrees. In places where heavy physical work is performed, temperatures will be even lower in the future. However, the restrictions do not apply to social facilities such as hospitals, daycare centers, and schools, where higher air temperatures are essential for the "health of the people who spend time there," according to the Economy Ministry.

Cutting back on warm water. Likewise, in public buildings, instantaneous water heaters or hot water tanks should be switched off if they are mainly used for washing hands. Exceptions are made for medical facilities, schools, and daycare centers. Some cities go even further. There, the showers in swimming pools and sports halls will remain unheated.

Private pools may no longer be heated with gas and electricity, except for rehab centers, recreational facilities, and hotels. The new regulations will initially apply until the end of February.

A second set of rules will come into force in October, apply for two years, and stipulate longer-term energy-saving measures. For example, all owners of buildings with a gas heating system must have a heating efficiency checkup."
