I need to replace my trolling batteries for my 36V Minn Kota. Lithiums would be awesome but over $1000 for batteries just doesn’t make sense for my use. I’ve pretty much settled on Sam’s Club for the Duracell 27 series deep cycle batteries. I’ve read they go on sale twice a year for $20 off. Does anyone have any idea when that is? If it’s coming up soon I’ll hold off and save the $60. With my luck I’ll pay full price and a month later they will go on sale

Go to Interstate Battery and get a "blem"

They last just as long and are about 1/2 the price... been using them in my boat and truck for 30 years

In the past I’ve bought them on sale Memorial Day and Father’s Day.

I’ve had really good luck w/AGM’s lasting 2x longer than regular lead-acid deep cycle for trolling motor batteries.

Shop price and warranty.
Most aftermarket car batteries sold in the U.S. are made by three companies that build them for retailers: Johnson Controls, which supplies more than half of the market; Stryten; and East Penn. They are sold under various names.

Duracell 12 volt car batteries are manufactured by East Penn.

It's silly to pay extra for a well advertised label.

Johnson Controls sold off their battery division, which is now called "Clarios." That's who made the AGM battery I recently bought at Walmart. Just an FYI.

I go to Batteries Plus

They get a ‘dead battery’ from some dumb mall kgunt that left her lights on. Sell her a new battery
Or some other retailer will sell her one.

They get those batteries, place them on a very slow, deep recharge for several days.
Check specific gravity on them and then resale them.

I get a REMAN for $40

I don’t know if there are any camper or boat dumbfukks but I did get a big ass deep cycle for my Jayco for also $40

I have sams club batteries in my boat. Great batteries and about 2/3 the price of most everything else. 2 years ago I bought three on sale over Memorial Day l. Last year I was going to buy another but they didn’t run a sale all year, plus the one I needed never came in stock all year. Like everything else they had supply issues. It’s been two years since I’ve seen them on sale.

Good info, thanks for sharing. I didn’t consider supply issues affecting sales. From all I’ve heard they are good batteries, same as Deka. Replacing 3 at a time sucks but so does a dying trolling motor after 3-4 hours.

I already replaced the starting and house batteries with Duracell and have no complaints

In May I needed the Deep Cycle 27dc Battery, that I picked up at Walmart, just because it's convenient.
Battery is an EverStart,(Johnson Controls), for my sump pump battery back up pump.
The Battery was not performing up to snuff so I just returned it free of charge, with a new one.
Last one lasted me 8 years,(2014).

I go to my local U pull it salvage yard... They keep their batteries on a rack in the office... $20 + refundable core charge... Learn to read the manufacturing date codes... Just picked up a 850 CCA that was 3 mo's old to run the winch on my flat trailer...
