I have several “cheap guns.” They make alot of sense for as you said truck guns ect. Who knows what the OP’s intent is but I see a revolver these days especially a snub nose as more of a range toy/collection item. If it isn’t going to be used hard I’d look at a pre Hillary hole S&W 586.

Poorboy is asking about $250+/-25 revolver and you are suggesting pre-lock S&W? Let us not stop there and suggest a Janz.😆

The S&W will retain more value and is the better bargain in the long run assuming that it won’t be used hard and most snubbie revolvers being bought today won’t be. A pre-lock S&W isn’t a big ticket item. I didn’t suggest a Janz or an original Python.

The best way to preserve value is at time of purchase. In this case used RIA in very good shape that functions well. Assuming gun is kept in working order monetary loss will be infinitesimal.

BS. I would use screen name Holland&HollandRook when making such crude statement.

Slavek would rather have a cock in his hands than a pistol.

Actually, in this case my choice would be older second hand beater SP101 in .38 or 357. By beater I mean cosmetically challenged but in very good mechanical order.

Stick it in your cock holster and pull the trigger.

So you’re saying $1 will eventually be worth $2 simply because time has passed? Give this man a fish butt.

I have a Rock Island 1911. It is a great pistol for what it is.

I have a Rock Island revolver. It is junk. It will not reliably fire. I fixed the excessive end shake. It was bad enough the cylinder drug on the back face of the barrel. Did not help. I replaced the hammer spring with a Wolf extra power spring. Did not help. I guess I’ll look into the firing pin next. It does have a good smooth action, and is quite accurate, but if it won’t go “Bang!” every time, I don’t have much use for it.
