Two years ago this month I bought a box of Rem 280 at SW, receipt still in box, $26. Same ammo today at SW, $55. If you happen to need 7x57, they've got plenty of Rem @ $62/box.

There is reason I load my own, and I stocked up when Obamy was in office. I load them all, cast most of what I shoot. It’s been over 5 years since I shot any factory CF ammo and that was done only to free up some brass for home loads.
I am..........disturbed.

Daughters boyfriend bought a 300 Win, LGS wanted him to buy Federal Premium at $65/box. Found him Federal Blue Box at $36. They have went up to $40, last week. About $7/ shipping.
I thought that was a heck of a good deal considering what they cost several years ago and how things have went up.
Was gonna help him load some, but components are somewhere between crazy $$$ and unavailable.

To quote Digital: There is reason I load my own, and I stocked up when Obamy was in office. When the big O made a pre-election statement about middle America holding on to their churches and guns, I stocked up before he was elected. Still shooting $17 a brick 22LR's.

Inflation will be the 1st word outta a mouth. But they wont talk about their profit inflation.
The word inflation takes care of that.
And their is ALOT more ammo on the shelfs sitting their waaaaaaay longer.
Think it would go down to move it...
Nope... More profit margin being made now and the word inflation covers up that Generic example
Make 15% profit on such and such items under President Trump. Now you can adjust your profit to 20% and take in inflation to the price also and blame it on Honk for Joey inflation to a customer. Most ain't gonna think otherwise. Then they might see same item someplace else and it will be 5 or 10% less. Some put it together, some dont....
Pretty convenient schit to make benjamins...

Pretty convenient schit to make benjamins... Yep. What you wanna bet the Grocery Stores don’t lower their prices if this Hiden Biden Inflation ever goes away. Lots of food items have increased 30 to 35 percent at our local grocery stores. Biden’s Illegal Administration and the DemoRat’s OWN THIS SCHITT. Hope it cost them their jobs at the Midterms. 😡

I can't imagine giving $60.00 for ammo.

Pretty convenient schit to make benjamins... Spot on. Why lower prices for demand items. Hold firm on prices and the consumer will sooner or later pay “the new normal price.”

Roger, Thank you for that. He has 60 rounds now, I don't think he is enjoying the lightweight of a Tikka enough to go through a whole bunch😁 Very much appreciate the offer, if a need arises, he may want to buy some from you.

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Did where you finding lead? It’s dried up. I began casting about 12 years ago and started with the purchase of 100# of pure lead, 30# of tin, and began robbing a local tire store of used wheel weights. Not long after one of the 'Fire members sold me 200# of linotype and another member/neighbor gifted me another 100+# of pure. I've managed to scrape up another 50+# of pure along the way from stick on WW, +/-. Total inventory at present is about 15# of tin, 200+ pure, 400# WW and 100+ Lino. And I have about 50# of various lead/tin alloys waiting their destiny. Papat, That one little blast of factory junk was for an M1 Carbine. S&B, 600 rounds. It shot for crap, so I did the drill, reloaded and I'm good out to around 200 yards with that little plinker. Other than that, and a few rounds of .380 ACP I haven't shot factory stuff since back in the late '90s....and haven't killed any game with factory ammo for over 30 years, save for the pigs with CB Shorts. And ya, I still got a few thou of those things tucked away. A promise to CCI, I won't ever reload CB Shorts. LR is another story.... I love the smell of black powder in the morning.
I am..........disturbed.

I just ordered a case of Norma 6.5 CM ammo for barely over a buck a bang. Primers are 15 cents, alone, powder is WTF?, bullets Who knows? and I can sell the used brass for about 50 cents. After selling the brass, I'm shooting for about $0.65 a pop, and I'm ok with that. Copper wire was invented when two Dutchmen found a penny, but until these component prices come back to some kind of sanity, I'll load what I've got and buy for the chamberings I'm not set up for.
